01 The problem

How long does a trade-in appraisal take at your dealership?

The client waits at the counter. The salesperson opens Kijiji, then Marketplace, then the book, and pulls out the calculator to take off recon and margin. Then it's off to see the manager. Count the minutes: it's often around fifteen per unit, and the number changes depending on who runs it. Time it yourself.

Today ≈ 15 min

  • Kijiji
  • Marketplace
  • The book
  • Calculator

Four tabs, prices copied by hand, math done in your head. An estimate to time at your own store.

With Eval360 ≈ 1 min

  • Comparables
  • Your rules
  • Offer
  • Quote

One screen: the listings with their city, your recon and margin applied, the offer and the client quote.

02 How it works

How does an appraisal with Eval360 work?

The salesperson scans the VIN with their phone and adds up to 6 photos. Eval360 finds comparable listings, in Québec first, then applies your dealership's margins and recon. In about a minute, you have the estimated resale price, the max buy price and the trade-in offer. Your manager decides.

  1. Scan the VIN

With the phone's camera, or enter the year, make and model.

  2. Add photos and condition

Up to 6 photos, analyzed. Pick the recon sheet (the "pad") that applies.

  3. Eval360 searches and calculates

Québec comparables first, then the rest of Canada. Your margin tiers are applied by a fixed calculation.

  4. Your manager decides

Resale price, max buy price, trade-in offer. The client gets a PDF quote in your colours.

Nothing to install: it's a web app you add to the home screen of an iPhone, an Android phone or a computer. Multiple users per dealership, with a manager role to set margins and recon.

The real app

What does Eval360 look like at the counter?

Your salesperson appraises on their phone. Your manager sees the maximum buy price, where it comes from and the listings behind it. The customer leaves with a clean quote in your colours, without any of your margins.

The quote handed to the customer: the unit, the trade-in offer and the tax savings, with no margin or internal cost.
  • The Appraise screen: scan the VIN or enter year, make and model.

    Appraise

Scan the VIN, then photos and condition. Three steps.

  • The Market tab: resale range and 8 listings of 2018 CX-5s in Québec, with price, mileage and city.

    Market

The resale range and every comparable listing, with its link.

  • The Math tab: target resale minus the tier margin and the recon pad equals the maximum.

    Math

Your margin, your recon, the maximum. Nothing hidden.

03 Where the numbers come from

Where do Eval360's numbers come from?

From three sources, in this order: your actual sales, if you import them as a CSV; current listings in Québec; then listings from the rest of Canada when there aren't enough. AI finds and reads the listings. The max buy price comes from a fixed calculation that applies your rules: same input, same result.

  1. First

    Your actual sales

Imported as a CSV. They take priority over listings.

  2. Next

    Québec listings

Checked at the time of the appraisal, with the city and the link.

  3. If needed

    The rest of Canada

When Québec comparables are thin. The city is always shown.

AI

The search

It finds comparable listings, reads the photos and description, and records the city, price, mileage and date. Everything is visible and checkable.

Fixed calculation

Your rules

A calculation with no AI applies your margin tiers and recon sheets. Your manager sets the parameters. Your margins, your recon, your history: your number.

The formula, shown on every appraisal

Resale price−recon−margin=max buy price

Example: $18,500 − $850 − $2,590 = $15,060

Asking prices, not sold prices

A listing is an asking price. That's why Eval360 derives an estimated resale price from it, then takes off your recon and your margin. And your actual sales come before listings.

The book or this week's listings

The Canadian Blue Book is updated in January, May and September. Eval360 checks listings at the time of the appraisal and shows the date. Keep your book: the two work together.

04 AI, kept in check

How does Eval360 stop AI from making up prices?

AI does one thing: find and read listings. Every comparable links to the real listing, which you can open. The max buy price and the offer come from a fixed calculation, with no AI. When comparables are scarce, confidence drops to "low" and you see it. And a person at the dealership approves every offer.

  • A link to every listingNot a black box: you see every listing used, and you can open it.
  • City, price, mileage and dateSo you can judge for yourself whether the comparable holds up.
  • A confidence levelHigh, medium or low, based on how many comparables there are and how close they are.
  • No price calculated by AIThe max buy price and the offer come from a fixed calculation that applies your rules.
  • A trade-in tool, not a chatbotInstructions by unit type (car, truck, motorcycle, ATV, side-by-side, snowmobile) and your settings.
  • A person decidesAI-assisted estimate, to be verified. Your manager approves every offer, after inspection.

05 In front of the client

What does the client get?

A PDF quote in your dealership's colours: the unit, the trade-in offer and the tax savings the trade-in gives them, in dollars. No profit or margin appears on it. The price range and the listings are hidden by default; the salesperson chooses to show them when it helps explain the offer.

06 Why us

Why Eval360 instead of a book or a car tool?

Because it's built for the counter of a Québec dealership: in French, with this week's listings, Québec first, and with your own rules. It covers cars and powersports in a single tool, produces a quote ready for the client and posts its price.

07 An honest comparison

Eval360, the books, car tools or the homemade method?

The books remain the tax reference, but are updated a few times a year. Car tools are fast, but don't cover powersports. The homemade method is current, but takes time. Eval360 combines current listings, your margins and a client quote. What it doesn't have yet: accuracy proven on your sales.

08 What's at stake

What is 1% of your trade-ins worth?

Enter your numbers. The calculation shows what a 1% gap on the value of your trade-ins represents, whether overpaid or a lost deal, and compares it with the plan price. It isn't a promise of savings: it's what's at stake. The pilot is there to check what Eval360 gives on your sales.

Calculation: trade-ins per month × average value × 1%.

1% of your trade-ins, every month:

$1,200

At 10 trade-ins a month, the Essential plan costs $99 a month.

A single trade-in overpaid by $1,000, or lost over $1,000, equals 10 months of Essential. We don't promise Eval360 prevents it: we're offering you the chance to check.

09 The real questions

What managers ask us

Used-vehicle managers are right to be skeptical: no pricing tool wins everyone over. Here are their toughest questions, and our straight answers.

"Your comparables are asking prices, not sold prices."

True. That's why Eval360 derives an estimated resale price from them, then takes off your recon and your margin. Your actual sales, imported as a CSV, come before listings. And listings show what your client sees on Marketplace this week.

"AI is going to make up prices."

AI searches and reads listings; it doesn't calculate your offer. Every comparable has a link you can open. The max buy price comes from a fixed calculation. If the data is thin, confidence drops to "low".

"I already have the Blue Book."

Keep it. Revenu Québec uses it for the estimated value of motorcycles, ATVs and snowmobiles. It's updated three times a year. Eval360 adds what the book doesn't have: this week's listings, your margins, the calculated offer and the client quote.

"My manager has 20 years of experience."

Good: he's the one who decides. Eval360 does the research, prepares the file, and gives salespeople a first answer when he's not there, on a Saturday or in the evening. Your expert approves, the tool prepares.

"Another subscription."

A single trade-in appraised $1,000 better pays for 10 months of Essential. You can pay yearly (2 months free) or monthly, with no commitment. And the 30-day pilot costs nothing, with no credit card.

"What about my numbers and Law 25?"

We don't sell any data, and your margins are never shown to another dealership. Our policy names the person in charge of personal information and our subcontractors, including AI analysis in the United States. Read the policy (in French).

"Who helps me when it breaks on a Saturday?"

We do. We're three founders and we answer ourselves, in English or French. Write to us through the form: we aim to reply the same business day.

"Does it connect to my DMS?"

Not today. Eval360 imports your sales as a CSV and scans the VIN. An integration will come if our clients ask for it; we won't advertise it before it exists.

11 The founders

Built by powersports salespeople, for the counter.

At the counter, the same scene plays out: the client waits, the salesperson juggles Kijiji, Marketplace and the book, and the number changes depending on who runs it. We built Eval360 to prepare that file in about a minute, while leaving the decision to the manager.

Co-founder

Powersports salesperson

He has been selling motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides and snowmobiles in Québec for years. He decided what the tool had to show: what a salesperson needs when the client is waiting, and what a manager wants to see before signing an offer.

Co-founder

Powersports salesperson

He also sells powersports in Québec. He puts Eval360 to the test from the counter salesperson's point of view and reports what gets in the way: a poorly chosen comparable, one step too many, a quote that isn't clear enough for the client.

William

Co-founder · developer

William Blais built Eval360 with two powersports salespeople. He looks after the product, the data and security. He is also the person in charge of the protection of personal information.

12 FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Eval360?

A trade-in appraisal web app for Québec dealers: cars, motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides and snowmobiles. The salesperson enters the unit or scans the VIN, and Eval360 finds current comparable listings, Québec first. It then applies the dealership's margins and recon, and calculates the estimated resale price, the max buy price and the trade-in offer, in about a minute.

Where do the comparables come from?

From three sources, in order: your dealership's actual sales, if you import them as a CSV; current online listings in Québec; then listings from the rest of Canada when there aren't enough. Every comparable shows its price, mileage, city and a link to the listing.

Listings are asking prices, not sold prices. How do you account for that?

That's right: a listing is an asking price. Eval360 uses listings to estimate a resale price, then subtracts your recon and your margin to get the max buy price. Your imported actual sales take priority over listings.

Can the AI make up prices?

AI is used to find and read listings; every comparable has a link you can check. The max buy price and the offer come from a fixed calculation, which doesn't use AI, based on your settings. A confidence level (high, medium, low) flags when comparables are scarce.

Does Eval360 guarantee the value?

No. It's a decision aid: the dealership alone sets its offer, after inspecting the vehicle. We don't buy units and we don't guarantee any value.

How is it different from the Canadian Blue Book?

The Canadian Blue Book (motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, personal watercraft) is updated in January, May and September. Eval360 checks listings at the time of the appraisal and applies your margins. The two work together: Revenu Québec actually uses the Blue Book for the estimated tax value of motorcycles, ATVs and snowmobiles.

Which vehicles are covered?

Cars, light trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides and snowmobiles. Boats and machinery are in testing: we're not promising them yet.

How does the trade-in tax credit work in Québec?

When an individual trades in their vehicle at a registered dealer, the GST and QST are calculated on the difference between the price of the vehicle purchased and the credit given for the trade-in. Revenu Québec's example: $20,000 − $5,000 = $15,000 taxable, which means $750 in GST and $1,496.25 in QST. Read the full guide (in French).

Does the trade-in tax credit apply to motorcycles, ATVs and snowmobiles?

Yes. For Revenu Québec, a road vehicle includes motorcycles, snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles. For property that isn't a road vehicle, such as a boat, other rules apply: check with Revenu Québec.

What does the client quote show?

A PDF in the dealership's colours, with the unit, the trade-in offer and the tax savings from the trade-in. No profit or margin is shown. The price range and listing prices are hidden by default; the salesperson chooses to show them.

What is the RDPRM button?

It opens a search in Québec's Register of Personal and Movable Real Rights (RDPRM), to check whether the vehicle has a lien: a hypothec, a lease or an instalment sale. The search has a fee; the rate is posted on the RDPRM website.

How much does it cost?

Essential: $99/month (40 appraisals). Pro: $249/month (200 appraisals). Group: $599/month, up to 3 locations. Pay yearly and 2 months are free. Taxes extra, no commitment on monthly plans. The first 10 dealerships in the Founders program get 20% off for as long as they stay clients. The 30-day pilot is free.

How long does an appraisal take?

About a minute. The VIN scan and up to 6 photos are done on the phone, with nothing to install: Eval360 is a web app that works on iPhone, Android and computer.

Can other dealerships see my margins and appraisals?

No. Your settings, margins and appraisals stay in your dealership's account. We don't sell any data.

Does Eval360 comply with Québec's Law 25?

A person in charge of the protection of personal information is designated and named in our policy, with the list of subcontractors, including AI analysis in the United States. We give dealerships the information they need for their privacy impact assessment (PIA). Every offer is approved by a person at the dealership.

Does it connect to my DMS?

Not for now. Today, Eval360 imports your sales as a CSV and scans the VIN. A DMS integration will come if our clients ask for it.
